Why Kosovo Should Be on Your Travel Radar

Kosovo is one of the world’s youngest countries, having established its independence in 1991. The country is predominantly Muslim with a high percentage of Albanians. Currently, the country is a wonderful place to visit, but in previous years, it was a disputed terrorist between Serbia and modern day Kosovo due to political and historical tensions.

This small landlocked country is about the size of Delware, but is rich with culture. For example, in Prizren, you can see a small Old Bazaar and historic old town. The capital also has a number of interesting monuments, churches, a unique library and more.

Food-wise, Kosovo has a diverse array of food options with an emphasis on food custonarily seen across the Balkans like potato-rich meals that may also be meat-heavy with a spicy tomato-based relish.

Interestingly enough, a status of former US president Bill Clinton is located in the capital of Pristina due to his trip to the country as a gesture of support.

Definitely a unique place to put on your travel radar! -K
