With one-week in central Europe, you are already well on your way to discovering an often overlooked part of Europe. From palaces to castles to markets, central Europe has all of the charm of many western European destinations. However, central Europe has fewer crowds and it can be less costly. 

Vienna, Austria (~3 days)

With a city the size of Vienna, 3 days sounds pretty quick, I know! That being said, I assure you, you will have an amazing time. With this guide, you can see some of the essential highlights while also maximizing your vacation time.

  • Cruise the Danube River 
  • See art nouveau architecture 
  • Hofburg 
  • Vienna State Opera House 
  • Austrian National Library

Bratislava, Slovakia (1-2 days) 

Bratislava is a wonderful destination that many people have not have heard of. With castles and cute city squares, this city makes for a lovely addition on any itinerary.

Budapest, Hungary (3-4 days) 

Oh, Budapest or some could say “Buda-best”, because this city is located in Hungary, a dynamic and culturally rich country.
