San Diego: California Dreaming in December

A surfer’s paradise, a girl’s dream weekend!

San Diego is a sunny coastal Californian city teeming with charm. From La Jolla Cove to Pacific Beach and delicious food spots, we enjoyed our first day.

Seal Rock was a highlight of the day. This area of La Jolla Cove features a feast for wildlife photographers, runners, and nature lovers alike. Here, you can watch pelicans, seagulls, divers, and seals up close. With a backdrop of gorgeous blue water, San Diego is a place that leaves you feeling transported to paradise.

Here are some of the shots that I took during our stop off at La Jolla Cove. We were heading to a famous taco truck. We opted to go back later due to the line. Yet, we found a delicious smoothie spot next door.

During our stop in La Jolla, we also found a gorgeous coastal path that hugged the sea. We were able to join fellow walkers, a few bikers and a jogger in exploring the area. The jaw-dropping path gave way to stunning views of cliffs and coast. As we drew closer to La Jolla Boulevard, the path we had been following ventured toward a pier. The pier featured a paved walkway that lended itself toward sweeping views of the cove and more seals to boot. I would highly recommend this area.

Earlier in the day, we visited Pacific Beach, which is located within walking distance from our accommodation. This laidback stretch of beach is lined with great eateries like Wood’s Breakfast Cafe and coffee shops like Koko’s Cafe. In short, I see why San Diego is such a stunning destination. I am thrilled to report back tomorrow regarding where we explore. We are currently considering the San Diego Zoo, Gaslamp Quarter or Old Town (near Balboa Park). Stay tuned!
